As a proven manager and consultant, Pablo launched and developed new businesses internationally and domestically as well as led operational transformation efforts in both the public and private sector. Early in his career, he successfully represented European and Latin American firms to the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. In this capacity, he worked directly in the areas of telecom privatization, remote sensing (satellite imaging), and railway and high tech vocational training. During his tenure with Johnson and Johnson, Pablo built and managed the sales, marketing, and distribution organizations for a medical device division in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. He has extensive experience in all aspects of planning and implementing new product launches internationally, from strategic analysis, planning and implementation to the formation of strategic alliances.
At Altreya, Pablo collaborates with client organizations to conduct operational reviews that identify where the organization must improve its efficiency and effectiveness to turn around its operations. Once the fact-based assessment is complete, Pablo produces and implements strategies to identify measurable goals and focus on the vital few areas requiring breakthrough results to close the performance gap between the current state and the desired state. Additionally, Pablo works with clients to develop and implement strategic alliance plans to achieve their growth goals.
Pablo earned both his B.S. and MBA. from the Kogod College of Business at American University in Washington DC. His active community involvement includes lending his organization and marketing strategy expertise to Advertising Council of Rochester initiatives. He also sits on the Board of Directors of CIS of the Al Sigl Center.
A pioneer in the evolution of global strategic alliances, Pete founded Strategic Triangle, Inc. in 1994. Before forming STI, Pete held several senior management roles during his 30 year international career at Eastman Kodak Company, a career which included postings as corporate senior vice president and general manager for fully-integrated worldwide businesses with annual revenues ranging from $1.5B to over $7B. During that period, he designed, managed and implemented several major strategic alliances, including the historic joint technology venture between Kodak, Canon, Nikon, Minolta and Fuji, which resulted in a new imaging industry standard, the Advanced Photo System.
Pete’s results-oriented general management and alliance experience are of great value to Altreya’s client companies, which range from early-stage startups to the most established legacy companies. “A core competency in strategic alliance management will clearly separate the winners and losers in today’s global technology race,” he says. “We help our clients develop the alliances that can accelerate top-line growth and drive down costs, keeping them one major step ahead of those who don’t know the alliance game.”
Most recently, Pete worked with Kodak, Gillette, Procter & and Gamble and Johnson & Johnson to establish the Consumer Products Manufacturers Association, a not-for-profit alliance working to develop and implement a universally accepted standard (RFID) for security packaging and product identification for the consumer packaged goods industry. Pete is also committed to increasing awareness of successful alliance strategy through his seminars and workshops for senior management teams. In all his engagements, seminars and workshops, Pete focuses on helping clients identify and develop those practices and alliance relationships that will produce measurable results for their companies.
In addition to his work at Altreya and Strategic Triangle, Pete has served as Board Chairman of Applied Science Fiction, an Austin, Texas-based developer of proprietary technologies for the imaging industry that was successfully sold to Eastman Kodak Company in May 2003. He has also served on the Board of Trustees at Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration, and the Board of Directors of Special Olympics International, 4-H International, and the Seaman Corporation. He graduated with honors in Psychology and English from Bowling Green University and earned an M.B.A. from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester.
